Installating ThinHost Print

Microsoft Print Redirection

Unless you are connecting from a temporary location, when logging into ThinHost it is obviously essential that you can print. The Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection client (the software used to connect to ThinHost) will often ensure that the printers installed on your computer are connected through to ThinHost. However, this method of connecting your printers to ThinHost is not recommended except when logging in from a temporary location.

ThinHost Print Redirection

ThinHost Print is a special software program that ensures
all printers installed on the PC connecting to ThinHost are seamlessly connected. It also compresses the print traffic to make printing much faster. We recommend that all ThinHost users install this program onto their computers for these reasons. Instructions on how to install ThinHost Print are below.

1.
    Logoff ThinHost

2.    From your PC or laptop (outside of ThinHost) go to www.thinhost.co.uk and click on Support

3.    Click "ThinHost Print" from the Downloads section and run the install program following all the instructions as given

4.    Reboot your computer

5.    When the computer has restarted open "ScrewDrivers Client" from within the Control Panel

6.    Select the Printers tab and click the "Query Printers" button

7.    You should also exclude all unnecessary printers by adding them to Denied Printers. Click OK to finish.

8. Disable Microsoft Print Redirection by following the below steps

Disabling Microsoft Print Redirection

It is important to disable Microsoft Print Redirect when using ThinHost Print. If you do not, you may see multiple printers in your ThinHost session and it may be confusing selecting the correct ones. The following instructions assume you are connecting to ThinHost by clicking an icon on your desktop, although the same options are applicable if you are launching the Remote Desktop Connection manually.

1.    Right-click the ThinHost icon and choose Edit

2.    Select the Local Resources tab

3.    Make sure that "Printers" is unselected

4.    Click the General Tab and choose Save or Save As
