Viewing local hard disks from within the service

The Remote Desktop Connection application allows you to view your local hard disks, cd / dvd drives and USB drives from within Thinhost. So, for example you can copy and paste documents from a USB drive onto a network drive. The following instructions show you how to do this.

  • After running the Remote Desktop Connection application, click the Options button

  • Click the Local Resources tab
  • Make sure that the Disk Drives option is ticked

  • Select the General tab and enter the name of the server you need to connect to
  • Click Connect to continue to the service log in screen.
  • Log in as normal
  • To check that the drives are available double click My Computer from the Desktop
  • The required drives will be listed as Disk from Remote Desktop Connection drives from View > Details
