Some computers may not have the Remote Desktop Connection installed, nor allow you to install it. This may be the case for some public access computers such as in internet cafes and hotels.

  • Go to the following link: http://web.www.thinhost.co.uk/tsweb
  • You maybe asked to install an Active X component. This may appear as a pop up dialog box, or as a line at the top of your browser screen depending on the version of Internet Explorer or internet browser you are using. Please install the Active X component.

Can't access ThinHost
top
  • In some rare situations, you may not be able to access ThinHost (but can access Webmail) due to an error that "The remote computer cannot be found".
  • If this is the case, please first check that you can browse the internet through a standard web browser.
  • if the internet is accessible, but ThinHost still is not, then the computer you're working on is sitting behind a firewall that has port 3389 blocked.
  • This port is required to communicate with the ThinHost servers. Please contact the network administrator for more information.
